The Cleveland Guardians prolong their winning streak to 4 games
After surprising many MLB experts with their dominant victory over the Kansas City Royals early on this season, the Cleveland Guardians further managed to build on this performance. They outlasted the Royals one more time before defeating the Cincinnati Reds away from home on two occasions. This helped them negate the effect of the two straight losses with which they started off the season.
The Guardians improved to 4 wins and 2 losses which puts them in a decent position to make a name for themselves in 2022. The team from Cleveland might not shine as some of their direct opponents from the American League, but they have proven that they should not be underestimated.
The team removed the name “Indians” as it was seen as inappropriate following the Native American mascot controversy. In 2017, they looked fantastic, and some people saw huge potential in this franchise as they managed to set a new American League record of 22 straight wins in the regular season. However, in the end, they didn’t manage to break the drought of more than 60 years without winning the World Series.
