The Houston Astros snap Toronto Blue Jays’ 4-game winning streak

Published on

The fans at the Minute Maid Park in Houston were in for a treat as the Houston Astros and the Toronto Blue Jays sent the game down the wire. The runners-up from last year managed to put an end to the Blue Jays’ up-and-coming 4-game winning streak.

Jeremy Pena became the hero for the Houston Astros as he delivered the game-winning homer to secure the victory in the extra inning. The Blue Jays took what might have been the deciding lead in the 10th inning, 7-6, but Pena came up clutch at the end, showing his strong nerves under immense pressure.

After what could have been a disastrous series against the Blue Jays, the Astros will travel in a positive mood to Texas to face off the Rangers on Monday night. The recent 4-game losing streak dragged them down to 9th place in the American League as they are now looking at 7 wins and 8 losses since the start of the season. Despite losing the third and final game in this mini-series, the Blue Jays remain on top of the League with 10 wins and 6 losses.
