1st Round Playoff Preview Golden State V.S. Denver

A matchup of two teams that have faced significant injury issues the entire regular season. The Nuggets, though, are still without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter. While the Warriors waited much of the season to get Klay Thompson back, they also dealt with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green battling nagging injuries much of the season.

This series would be electric if both teams were at full strength, but that will not be the case. Yet the deciding factor in this series will likely be guard play. Sure the best player in the series is likely to be Nikola Jokic. Yet even if he averages a 40 ppg triple-double, it likely will not be enough.

Prediction: Warriors

The Warriors have four guards/wings averaging over 17.2 ppg. As long as they are moderately healthy, the Warriors have more firepower. Not only that, the Warrior’s older core is trying to make one last run at a championship, so they are playing for something more for sure.
