Darvin Ham elected as head coach of the LA Lakers

Darvin Ham - new coach of LA Lakers

After firing Frank Vogel in April, the LA Lakers were on a mission to find a new head coach for the team. They ended up 2021/22 NBA Season with an unattractive 33-49 record and surprisingly missed out on the Playoffs despite their stacked roster. Darvin Ham was appointed as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Ham was part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ coaching system throughout the last 4 years of his managing career. He was also the assistant coach for the title-winning team in 2021.

Ham started his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets in 1996. He had some successful spells in Milwaukee, Detroit, and Atlanta. In 2004, Ham won his maiden NBA Championship with the Pistons after defeating Phil Jackson’s Lakers in the Finals. After spending some years in the G League, he started his coaching career. The 48-year-old has been an assistant coach for the past 11 years. His appointment as a head coach of the LA Lakers came out of the blue, but this decision might be a winning one for the purple and gold organization.
