Ex-Spurs coach accepts Thunder’s offer

The former San Antonio Spurs shooting coach Chip Engelland signs a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He spent over 17 years in Texas crafting the shooting technique of a whole generation of basketball players.

Engelland has been part of two title-winning teams during his time in San Antonio. He worked together with Hall of Famers like Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili and he personally trained Kawhi Leonard throughout his first steps in the NBA.

His role within the Thunder will be as an assisting coach who will be responsible for the development of the young players acquired by the team across the past seasons. Engelland will most certainly improve the overall technique and shooting skills of prospects like Chet Holmgren, Theo Maledon, Jaylin Williams, and Josh Giddey. Nicknamed “the Machine Gun” for his shooting skills, his experience will serve as a catalyst for the Thunder’s players to unleash their potential.
