Halcones de Obregón beat Pioneros de Los Mochis

Halcones de Obregon finally took revenge for the last single-point losses to Pioneros de Los Mochis. They made the best out of the fantastic third quarter and closed out the game, 89-94, despite losing their advantage in the last couple of minutes. Jordan Stevens’ double-double was not enough for Pioneros de Los Mochis as he ended up with 27 points and 11 assists. Alexander Quintin and Donald Runnels added 22 points and 20 points for the losing team, respectively.

The 28-year-old Mexican, Tony Christopher, was once again in the clutch mode for Halcones de Obregon as he contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the victory. Their 7’0’’ center, Deion McClenton performed on a high level on Wednesday night, finishing off with 20 points and 8 rebounds on 8-11 shooting from the field.

With this victory, Halcones de Obregon closed the gap to their opponents as they continued trailing back in 4th place with 10 wins and 8 losses. On the other hand, Pioneros de Los Mochis are now 3rd in the Mexican CIBACOPA with an 11-7 record suffering a fifth loss in their last 8 matches.
