Heat wave goodbye to the Sixers

Published on

The Philadelphia 76ers had their hopes of reaching their finals crushed last night as they were eliminated by the Miami Heat in an incredibly tense game. The final score was 99-90 to the Heat and this was in part, due to the amazing performance of former Sixer Jimmy Butler. Butler played like he had something to prove and ended the game with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal, showing that he had an impact on both sides of the court. Butler had been previously traded from the Sixers squad in a trade that involved Al Horford and Josh Richardson to free up cap space. The Sixers squad later signed Tobias Harris with their freed up space, Butler was filmed after the game saying “Tobias Harris after me” showing that the Heat player is still bitter about Philly’s decision to let him go.

Even Sixer center Joel Embiid still seems to be hurt about the decision to send Butler elsewhere. He was quoted saying about the Heat forward after the game that “I Still don’t know how we (Philly) let him go…I wish I could have gone to battle with him still”. This shows that Embiid still respects Butler’s game and hustle despite being eliminated from the series due to his hard work and determination.

The Heat squad will be looking to play the winner of the Bucks and Celtics series. The Bucks are currently up 3-2 but all can change in a second in the National Basketball Association.
