After what had been an intense series, Instituto de Cordoba got things done against Regatas in Game 4. The winning team was more clutch than their opponents in the decisive moments of the last quarter, thus getting the final victory, 74-80.
Juan Arengo and Facundo Pinero’s efforts were simply not enough for Regatas to force Game 5. They finished off the series with an admirable performance as Arengo dropped 20 points on 8-15 shooting, while Pinero added 18 points. Nicolas Copello and Gaston Whelan were the big names for Instituto de Cordoba on Monday night as they combined for 33 points. However, Martin Cuello will need to improve his shooting percentage as he barely daggered a total of 14 points throughout the last two matches.
The semi-finals are set as Quimsa will face off with Boca Juniors, while Instituto de Cordoba will go head-to-head with the up-and-coming San Martin. Instituto de Cordoba has won three of their last four encounters with San Martin, which puts them slightly ahead. However, they suffered a devastating loss, 86-63, back in January, which is a sign that the team from Corrientes would not give up without a fight.
