Jamal Crawford: The Sixth Man only Dreams are Made of

Crawford retires from NBA

After twenty seasons NBA star Jamal Crawford has decided it is finally time to hang up his sneakers. Crawford who it has been said is the best sixth man of all time has retired from the National Basketball Association after twenty years.

Crawford garnered mass respect in the league due to his silky dribble moves that woo’d fans and inspired the future generations. It is also notable how Crawford changed the game for bench players as prior really to Crawford being benched seemed to be a hindrance on one’s career. Crawford owned this and became one of the greatest sixth men to play the basketball, opponents would be smashed by the first team and when finally they thought they would have a moments peace and quiet when the bench mob came in, Crawford who was just as good to be in the first team (better in some instances) would come on make their lives hell.

Crawford began his NBA journey when he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 8th pick in the 2000 draft. The guard then on the same day was traded to the Chicago Bulls and this is where he started to show the league the productivity that he could give teams off of the bench. This carried on until the end of his career where the veteran guard was one of the most feared players in the league due to his killer crossover and the sporadic minutes that he played.

Let’s take a look at some of the monumental achievements that Crawford has accomplished in his career:

Sixth Man of the Year Award x3
NBA Teammate of the Year 2018
1st Player to have 50 points on four separate teams
2nd player to score 10,000 career points from the bench

Looking at these achievements it’s evident to see the impact that Crawford had on the teams that he played for and the game of basketball as a whole. We wish the best for Crawford in his next ventures in life and wish him a happy retirement.
