The 21-year-old prospect from Golden State, James Wiseman made his long-awaited return on Sunday night after being off duty for four months. He helped his team overcome the Spurs’ challenge dropping 11 points, two rebounds, and two blocks for the final score, 86-85.
The young center has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a setback in his rehab in March. Wiseman was selected with the 2nd overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but his path in the Big League has been filled up with difficulties. Following a torn right meniscus suffered in his Rookie season, Wiseman is yet to make his breakthrough this year.
The talented center has been considered the perfect fit for the Warriors as he can learn a lot from Draymond Green in that position.
The lack of playing time, however, might turn out to be crucial for his development as a player. The expectations for the 2022/23 NBA season are set high following the title from a couple of weeks ago. This means that Wiseman will need to work immensely hard if he wants to keep his spot at Chase Center.
