With two Final Fours and a national championship to show for three years in college, UCONN’s Kemba Walker has decided to go pro.

Kemba Walker is among the most recent players to announce that he will forfeit the balance of his college eligibility to enter the 2011 NBA Draft.

Walker was a Junior last season with the Connecticut Huskies, the current national champions of NCAA basketball, but he has decided that he won’t be sticking around for his senior year.

According to Chicago Breaking Sports: “Walker will hold a press conference Tuesday at Gampel Pavilion to announce his decision to forgo a final season of eligibility”.

Walker, during his time in Storrs, always had the compliments of UCONN coach Jim Calhoun and the point guard leaves with impressive college credentials.

Walker scored a school record 965 points during the 2010/11 season as he led his Huskies to the Final Four behind an incredible playoff run that saw Connecticut enter the post-season as the 9th seed in the Big East and end it as national champs.

Walker was the MVP of the Maui Invitational, the Big East tournament, and the Final Four and he is a lock for the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft.

Harry James' love for sports began in his high school basketball days. Sadly, an injury meant he couldn't further his NBA dreams, but the hooper's loss is our gain as he then found journalism.
