MVP Jokic puts a stop to the Warriors sweep

Nuggets beat the Warriors to avoid sweep

It was a big night in Denver, Colorado for MVP Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets squad. The Serbian big man was at risk of becoming the first-ever MVP to be swept in the first round. Despite this looming over his head, the newly crowned most valuable player showed fans and critics alike why he was worthy of winning the coveted award.

Jokic ended the game with a mighty 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists showing once again that he is a player that can have a massive impact on every side of the court. The Nuggets did not falter against the x6-time champions and were able to avoid being swept in the first round by the Golden State squad. The game was incredibly matched with both sides really giving it their all. It came down to a nail-biting finish where the Nuggets were able to steal the ball from an inbound pass. This resulted in the Nuggets regaining possession with the ball in Jokic’s hands. The MVP drove towards the basket and was able to find an open Will Barton who was able to hit the three cementing the Nuggets win.

Final Score: DEN 126 – GSW 121
Golden State Warriors lead the series 3-1
