Orlando Magic looking to recapture glory days

The Orlando Magic have been struggling in the NBA lately as they continue to look for their first Playoff series win since the 2009/10 season where they reached the Conference Finals. However, after acquiring Paolo Banchero from Duke in the 2022 NBA Draft, things might fall in the right place once again for the team from the East.

Banchero has shown his versatile skills in the NCAA averaging 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists across 39 games this season. The young rookie will have to adapt his playing style to the NBA as this regularly takes quite some time in the modern era.

He will have the opportunity to share the floor with a lot of players who share the same career path as him. Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, Franz Wagner, Chuma Okeke, and Jalen Suggs have all been drafted by the Magic throughout the previous years.

On top of everything else, there have been some unofficial talks between the Magic’s current owner, Dan DeVos, and Shaquille O’Neal concerning the change of ownership. Shaq has asserted his interest in acquiring the Magic as this was the team that he first got to prove himself on within the league.
