Things were not looking good for the 76ers in game three against Toronto. James Harden fouled out and sent the Raptor’s Precious Achiuwa to the free-throw line with the game tied under a minute. Achiuwa missed both free throws, though, and the 76ers even had a chance to win it at the buzzer.
Joel Embid missed a three, then Tobias Harris missed a putback at the buzzer. Still, things did not look good as the 76ers were going to have to pay overtime without Harden. Yet in comes MVP candidate Joel Embid who made sure that would not happen. He had five of his team’s nine overtime points.
The biggest of those points was the three that Embid hit a fade way with time expiring. It was reminiscent of the Shot Kawhi Leonard hit against Philadelphia two years ago. Now up 3-0, the 76ers all but have this series wrapped up thanks to Embid.
