Quimsa takes the lead against Boca Juniors

The top favorite for the title in the Argentina Liga A, Quimsa, fought back after a devastating second quarter in Game 1 of the Semi-Finals against Boca Juniors. They erased a 10-point deficit in high fashion after going on a 21-6 run at the end of the third quarter. The team from Santiago del Estero sealed the deal with a dominating performance in the last 12 minutes of the game that gave them the final victory, 92-82.

The American duo, Reyshawn Terry and Eric Anderson made the difference in Sunday’s opening match to the series as they shot high percentages from the field, finishing off with 22 points and 21 points, respectively. Juan Brussino added 21 points for Quimsa, while Mauro Cosolito was really helpful with his all-around play.

Leonel Schattmann was the biggest contributor for Boca Juniors, but his 18 points were merely enough to keep it a contested game throughout the last quarter. Carlos Buendia added 16 points for 17 minutes on the court Adrian Boccia, and Joseph Avila will have to step up their game if they want to have a shot at the title this year.
