Update on Joel Embiid injury

Published on

Joel Embiid is going to miss yet another game due to the injury he received in the previous round against the Toronto Raptors. MVP candidate Embiid, unfortunately, caught a knock in Game 6 against the Raptors after an accidental blow from Pascal Siakam. Embiid has missed the first two games of the series against the Miami Heat and things are not looking good for the Sixers side as they have lost both games.

It has been diagnosed that Embiid received an orbital fracture and a concussion in the game against the Raptors, hence why he has been sitting on the sidelines ever since. 76ers fans are hoping that their best player can make a speedy recovery and come back and offer a well-needed hand in the series against the Heat who are looking like the favorites to win the Eastern Conference Championship.

Embiid has been replaced in the lineup by DeAndre Jordan who is a former first-team all defensive. Sadly for the Philly squad, Jordan has seen the better years of his career and this replacement doesn’t quite match the caliber of Joel Embiid who has arguably been one of the best players in the league in recent years. Many can see Embiid winning MVP this year and the Cameroonian even has the backing of the “Big Aristotle” Shaquille O’Neal. It’s unsure when Embiid might return to the court but we wish the big man a swift and fast recovery.
