Warriors take down Celtics in Game 2

Published on

After the Celtics’ fiasco in Game 1, the Golden State Warriors tied the series with a dominant performance in the third quarter on Sunday in the Chase Center. Steph Curry and Draymond Green stepped up to help their team overcome Boston’s dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and were able to keep the Boston pair at bay. The game started well for the away side as Brown nailed down three 3-pointers in the first quarter. However, his shooting gradually got more and more inconsistent throughout the game.

Jayson Tatum came back with a great game after a lacklustre performance in Game 1 and despite scoring 28 points and going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc, the talented small forward found it hard to stop the Warriors. Curry finished off with 29 points whilst shooting 42.9% from the field, while Kevon Looney was unstoppable in the paint and did not miss a shot for the entirety of the game.

The Celtics maintained a close gap up until the third quarter when the Warriors activated “Beast Mode”. Boston will really need to step it up in Game 3 as only three players on the squad were able to score above 10 points.
