As a player, Winfield-Hill boasts a robust career, having been a fast bowler for the Queensland Fire and the Brisbane Heat in her native Australia. In 2019, she led the Leeds Rhinos to a Grand Final and Challenge Cup double in rugby league and represented England in the 2022 Rugby League World Cup after moving to England in 2018.
