Bookmaker William Hill has cut the price of Idris Elba becoming the next James Bond after Pierce Brosnan endorsed him to become the next man to be handed a licence to kill.
Elba has gone from 7/4 to 6/4 after Brosnan – the man who played Bond before Daniel Craig – gave his backing in an interview with the Radio Times.
William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly told Crunchsports.com: “An endorsement from a former Bond will certainly not harm Idris’ chances of bagging himself the most coveted role in cinema and he is our clear favourite.”
Tom Hardy is the 9/2 second favourite to take the role when Craig walks away, while Michael Fassbender is the 13/2 third favourite.
