Brazilian Esports dynamo Influence Rage bucked a slow start to beat defending champions Alpha 7 Esports and grab the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Americas Championship 2022.
Influence Rage accumulated 275 points in 24 matches, escaping Alpha 7 Esports who tallied 273 points built on 145 finishes and four chicken dinners.
With the win, Influence Rage also took home a 23,000 USD prize purse. The victory marked the second straight Americas Championship title for Brazil.
LiLBOY spearheaded the attack for the Brazilians with 55 eliminations, highlighted by 9K HP damage and roughly 20 minutes of average survival. He was named as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Nova Esports team, who is coming off a string of bridesmaid finishes in PMPL North America, settled for the third spot with 268 points.
Completing the top five are Honored Souls with 214 points and the Americas Season 1 champion Knights, who recorded 209 markers.
