Perez believes Red Bull can dominate new era of Formula 1

Mexican racing driver Sergio Perez believes that Red Bull will be in the upper echelon of Formula 1 in the upcoming seasons.

In an interview with Fox Sports, Perez said that the new F1 regulations will be advantageous to Red Bull, especially once they have addressed the team’s recent poor reliability issues.

“We still have a lot of problems to solve but the main thing is that we are competitive and Red Bull is set to dominate the next few years with these new regulations,” Perez said.

It can be recalled that Perez retired in Bahrain because of poor reliability while teammate Max Verstappen was forced to retire twice while running P2 in Bahrain and Australia.

Nevertheless, Red Bull managed to bounce back in style in its most recent race with Verstappen spearheading a one-two finish at Imola to reduce the gap to Ferrari to 11 points.

Perez, however, mentioned that Red Bull must be cautious to avoid the mistakes made by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc as they look to go on attack mode in the upcoming races.

“We are in a season where we have to go on the attack and we are in the fight. This weekend (Imola) was important, and the easiest thing was to make a mistake, as it happened with other drivers (Leclerc),” Perez added.
