Red Bull extend Sergio Perez’s contract until the end of 2024

Sergio Perez will remain with Red Bull for two more seasons after the team extended his contract until the end of 2024.

The Mexican driver joined the team in 2021 from Racing Point as a replacement for Alex Albon. In his first season with the team, he won one race and finished fourth in the championship. While he was unable to match the results of team-mate Max Verstappen, Red Bull had seen enough to keep him on for 2022.

His performances this year have continued to improve, and he took his first win of the season at the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend. This follows on from his first pole position in F1 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The 32-year-old currently sits third in the 2022 championship standings. With his future secured for two more years, Perez will hope to continue his good run of form and repay the faith shown in him.
