Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is eager to put on a spectacular show in this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix as he expects strong support from the fans.
Speaking to Mat Coch of Speed Café, Perez lauded Formula 1’s expansion into the United States, even going to say that he might end up living there.
“It’s a great market for Formula 1 and I am sure there will be a lot of Latin Americans and Mexicans at the race, so hopefully I get a lot of support and it will be a very important race for the team both on and off the track,” Perez said.
The 32-year old Mexican, who is coming off an impressive performance in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, also praised the race circuit after sampling the track on the simulator.
“I found the new circuit fun on the simulator and it can potentially be a good place for racing with those very long straights. I think choosing the right downforce level will be the biggest challenge for the teams,” he added.
Perez and the rest of his competitors will have their first taste of the Miami track when they take part in Free Practice 1 on Friday.
