Cincinnati Bengals Sign Rookie Safety Daxton Hill

Published on

The Cincinnati Bengals’ secondary just got a big-time reinforcement.

On Wednesday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Cincinnati Bengals officially signed rookie safety Daxton Hill. Hill was drafted by the Bengals with the 31st overall pick in this year’s draft. The Bengals are fresh off an AFC Championship, and having a young stud like Hill in the secondary could keep the team competitive for years to come.

Hill is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and played college ball at the University of Michigan. In 2019, Hill was named Michigan’s Defensive Rookie of the Year. In 2021, he played in 14 games for the Wolverines, racking up 70 tackles and two interceptions. Hill’s stellar play earned him a First-team All-Big Ten selection.

Hill is a versatile player, who made several special teams appearances for the Wolverines. He’s also highly intelligent, earning Academic All-Big Ten honours in both 2020 and 2021.

This will be a great move for Hill as he steps into a team on the upswing after playing the Superbowl just last year.
