Who doesn’t love a good revenge tour?
On Tuesday, CBS Sports reported that cornerback James Bradberry has signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Bradberry is surely savouring the deal for two reasons. First, it’s reportedly worth an impressive $10 million. Second, he’ll have the opportunity to get back at the New York Giants, the Eagles’ divisional rival, who released him earlier this month.
A Samford University alumni, Bradberry made his NFL debut in 2016 with the Carolina Panthers. Bradberry played 60 games over four seasons with the Panthers, notching 279 tackles and 8 interceptions.
In 2020, Bradberry signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the New York Giants. Bradberry showed out in his first season with the Big Blue, racking up 54 tackles on his way to a Pro Bowl selection. He was nearly as impressive in 2021, appearing in all 17 games for the Giants and making 47 tackles, but that didn’t stop the Giants from looking to trade, and ultimately releasing him this offseason.
The Eagles and Giants will play each other at least twice in 2022. At least one new Eagle is surely looking forward to it.
