Darwin Núñez already feeling Anfield pressure

If Darwin Núñez didn’t understand how big of a club Liverpool are, after two lackluster performances in Liverpool’s two pre-season friendlies, he certainly knows now.

Núñez arrived at Anfield just over a month ago in a deal that could cost the Reds up to €100 million, and it’s fair to say things could have gotten off to a better start.

After missing a sitter in Liverpool’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United, Nunez’s performance in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace did little to inspire confidence.

Of course, it is far too early to write any player off but with Manchester City looking stronger with the arrival of Erling Haaland, if Liverpool are to mount a serious title charge then the goals of Núñez will be vital.

Whilst Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes that Núñez will hit the ground running, some of the clubs’ fans and former legends are having some doubts, with former forward Luis Garcia claiming that Núñez has to work a lot harder than he currently is.

Liverpool will start their Premier League season away against Fulham. Klopp and the entire Liverpool fan base will hope that Núñez can find the target otherwise it could be a tough few weeks ahead.
