Everton set to move for Guido Rodriguez

Published on

It’s taken a while, but finally, the wheels of investment are turning at Everton. It’s been a positive week for the Toffees as they look set to sign former Burnley winger Dwight McNeil after announcing the signing of Ruben Vinagre on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

It’s clear that following the loss of Richarlison to Spurs, Everton needs an injection of quality if they are to stay clear of the relegation zone this season.

One player that Everton boss Frank Lampard is reportedly keen on signing is Guido Rodriguez who currently plays for the Spanish side Real Betis.

Rodriguez would bring much-needed stability to the heart of Everton’s midfield.

At 28, Rodriguez has 24 caps for Argentina and he looks a good bet to make Argentina’s World Cup squad later this year.

Betis find themselves in a tricky position, as they need to sell players in order to register any new additions ahead of the start of the new season.

According to reports, the Betis board believe that Rodriguez is the man to cash in on.

It looks like another tough season could be in the works for Everton but if they can stump up the €21 million that Betis are wanting, in Rodriguez they could land a player of enormous quality.
