Garrett Wilson is officially a New York Jet.
On Wednesday, NFL News reported that wide receiver Garrett Wilson signed his rookie contract with the New York Jets. Wilson was drafted by the Jets with the tenth overall pick in this year’s draft.
Wilson gives Jets fans plenty to be excited about. He was a standout at Ohio State and in his junior season, Wilson produced 70 receptions for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns. He went on to turn heads at the NFL Scouting Combine by posting a 4.38-second 40-yard dash.
The Jets offence certainly needs Wilson’s help. In 2021, the Jets drafted quarterback Zach Wilson (no relation) of Bringham Young University with the second overall pick. Quarterback Wilson was atrocious in his rookie season, tossing just nine touchdowns against eleven interceptions.
With Garrett Wilson locked up, the Jets have now signed all three of their first-round picks. The team also agreed to terms with cornerback Sauce Gardner and pass rusher Jermaine Johnson II.
