Newcastle makes first move for Angelo Gabriel

Published on

The Newcastle revolution is well underway and the Magpies are looking forward to a season where anything is possible.

Now one of the richest teams in the world, The Newcastle board are going about their business sensibly and have spent their time buying players with solid Premier League experience as well as trying to attract young attacking talent.

One player that Newcastle have made a move for is young Brazilian starlet Angelo Gabriel. The forward who is just 17, plys his trade for Santos but has already made 74 senior appearances having made his debut when he was just 15.

Unsurprisingly Gabriel has been on the radars of several of the world’s biggest clubs, which include the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Barcelona.

According to reports, Newcastle are set to make the first move and table a bid of around £17 million. However, it’s believed that the total is well short of the valuation that Santos have set for the player.

Santos are in no hurry to sell, as they know that Gabriel’s price is likely to rise in the future – potentially setting off a bidding war between the world’s biggest clubs. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle come in again for a player that could help take the club to new heights.
