Aprilia confirm Espargaro and Vinales to remain with team until 2024

Italian manufacturer Aprilia has confirmed that current MotoGP riders Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales will remain with the team beyond 2022.

The team have confirmed that both Spanish riders have signed renewed contracts which will keep them at the team until the end of 2024.

Espargaro has been with Aprilia since 2017 and is having his best season in the championship. He secured his and Aprilia’s first win in the MotoGP class earlier this year when he won the Argentinian Grand Prix. He currently lies third in the championship standings.

Vinales is in his first season with Aprilia after departing Yamaha during 2021. It has been a slow start in 2022 as he adapted to the bike with his best result coming in Argentina where he finished seventh. With his future secured, Vinales will be looking to progress and challenge towards the front.

Since the announcement was made that Suzuki would be leaving MotoGP at the end of 2022, there have been plenty of rumours surrounding the rider market and who could end up where in 2023. The new contracts confirmed by Aprilia will be seen as a crucial move for them.
