Brazil’s Diogo Moreira takes impressive World Supermoto win

Published on

Young Brazilian rider Diogo Moreira demonstrated his considerable talent with an impressive wildcard win in the 2022 FIM Supermoto World Championship race at the Circuit of Alcarras in Spain.

Entering as a wildcard with SGR Grau Racing, the 18-year-old took pole position and then followed that up with two race wins and one second place to give him the overall victory in round two.

Moreira was comfortably clear of the rest of the field in both of his race victories and, were it not for a small mistake in the third race, he would have been on course for a clean sweep. His dominant display in Supermoto is sure to get the MotoGP paddock talking.

Moreira is making his debut in the Moto3 championship this year with MT Helmets – MSI and, although he has not taken an overall win so far, he is leading the way in the Rookie of the Year category.

Moto3 returns to action this weekend in the Grand Prix de France at the Le Mans circuit. Moreira will be hoping to replicate his performance in the latest round of the championship.
