Brazil’s Moreira puts in strong performance to claim top spot

Rookie Moreira sets fastest lap in FP3

Brazilian rookie sensation Diogo Moreira put in an impressive performance at the start of the weekend at the Red Bull Grand Prix of Spain to grab top spot in Moto3 FP3.

The MT Helmets – MSI rider started slow but managed to bring his full arsenal in the closing stages to claim first by the narrowest of margins.

Moreira crossed the finish line in 1:45.376 to set the fastest lap of the weekend while beating teammate Izan Guevara who finished second at 1:45.738.

Completing the top five were David Salvador of Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max, Leopard Racing’s Dennis Foggia, and Red Bull KTM Tech 3’s Deniz Oncu.

Completing the top 10 were Andrea Migno of Rivacold Snipers Team, Jaume Masia of Red Bull KTM Ajo, Ryusei Yamanaka of MT Helmets – MSI, world champion Sergio Garcia, and Carlos Tatay.

Moreira and the rest will return to action this Saturday as the Moto3 qualifying kicks off at 12:35 local time.
