Perez takes F1 race car on first United States road trip with Red Bull

Perez competes in the Miami Grand Prix this May

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez made headlines over the weekend after taking his F1 race car to South Beach to get a first taste of the Miami Grand Prix circuit.

The Mexican daredevil, who will be headlining the Miami circuit from May 6 to 8, drove his Red Bull RB7 from New York to Hard Rock Stadium with the assistance of Miami Dolphins player Byron Jones and renowned barefoot water skier Parks Bonifay.

“I think Miami is the perfect place for Formula 1. It’s a very fun city, and there’s a good energy there. The track is looking awesome and I can’t wait to see all the fans there. Austin always feels like a home race for me, and I think Miami will be similar” Perez said.

Perez’s trip to the United States is the latest in a long line of Red Bull’s excursions across multiple countries that include visits to South Africa, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands.
