The 41-year-old veteran from Florida, Denny Hamlin, ended up in 3rd place last season marking his 4th podium in the overall NASCAR Cup Series standings throughout his career. He has been racing for Joe Gibbs Racing for 18 years already as he made a switch from Chevy to Toyota back in 2008. He is considered one of the top stock car racing drivers of all time as he clinched a win in every single season except for 2018, when he fought to six podiums but no victory.
Compared to last season, when he had 19 top fives from 36 races, Denny Hamlin’s form seems a bit off now. Despite winning at the 2022 Toyota Owners 400 earlier in April, he is struggling with the Next-Gen car this year. Hamlin lacks consistency as he doesn’t have any other top 10 finish this season which can be considered to be a huge disappointment. However, he remains one of the top contenders in each race even after 18 years in the stock car racing.
