The All-Star race on Sunday in Texas was yet another intriguing competition this year despite not being counted into the championship. However, the $1 million prize was on the line, and everyone was ready to give it a try. It was all looking pretty good for Kyle Busch, who led the pack after Stage 1. With Kyle Larson hitting the wall early on in Stage 2, it seemed that Busch’s chances have drastically increased.
With 4 laps to go in the second part of the race, the leader’s car caught on fire and he suffered a flat tire, resulting in his loss of wheel control. This affected the whole pack behind him as Ross Chastain was unable to avoid the collision while Chase Elliott was sent into the wall. Fortunately, they all went unharmed in what seemed to be one of the hardest hits this season. They were all battling out for the top prize, but they were forced to settle for a front-row view to watch Ryan Blaney winning the All-Star race.
