The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Kyle Larson, was looking fantastic on Sunday in the 2022 GEICO 500. He had a decent shot at winning the race in Talladega, but a last-lap wrong maneuver by Erik Jones dragged him back to 4th place. However, this was his first top 5 finish on a superspeedway in his career of over 10 years.
He has always been having troubles on such tracks, despite his sheer consistency throughout the last couple of seasons. On top of that, his actions in 2020 almost put an end to his NASCAR career as he has been suspended without pay by Chip Ganassi Racing.
The 29-year-old driver from Elk Grove, California, showed that this story is in the past as he has learned from his mistakes and is ready to fight for more glory in stock car racing. Kyle Larson stated that it was his lack of experience that didn’t allow him to surprise everyone and reign in Talladega. This further proves the point that he is slowly but surely turning into a clever driver who gives respect where it’s due and tries to get the best out of such situations.
