If the Boston Celtics are going to win the 2010 NBA championship then they will have to win another game at the Staples Center as the Los Angeles Lakers will be at home for game 6 and a possible game 7.
According to odds with Bodog, Boston winning in LA again looks to be easier said than done as the Lakers have opened as -6.5 favorites.
With Andrew Bynum ineffective in both games 4 and 5 and with Boston covering the spread in each of those games, you really have to question the Lakers status as -6.5 favorites heading into game 6. Let’s face it – there’s nothing about playing in Los Angeles that is going to phase these Celtics. They won game 2 at the Staples Center by 9 points and while part of that had to do with a fluky Ray Allen shooting spree, whose to say others won’t step up in game 6?
Boston have been winning road series for the greater part of the post-season as Lebron James and his Cavs are ancient history and the Orlando Magic are on the sidelines as well. Both of those teams were better than Boston when judged in terms of regular season winning percentages and yet the Celtics are the team holding the 3-2 edge in the NBA finals.
Game 7, if played, will be harder to win than game 6 so the Celtics are going to have to pull out all the stops to take down the title on Tuesday night in a game that starts at 9pm ET.
