Kyrie Irving, Tyler Zeller, and John Henson – 2011 NBA Draft status updates

Published on

One and only one of these players are reportedly going to be in the NBA draft later this year.

The Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels both underachieved in the recently completed NCAA tournament. However in the case of the North Carolina Tar Heels they should still have their core together next season.   The Seattle Times reported on Thursday that Tyler Zeller and John Henson, both players with the Tar Heels, “are passing on the NBA for another run at a national championship.”   Harrison Barnes might be another story according to the Times and over in Durham, the status of Kyrie Irving is certainly another story. The point, reportedly, “is leaving Duke after one season” as he looks to take the next step and to get drafted into the NBA.   The Kansas Jayhawks will keep Tyshawn Taylor and Thomas Robinson for at least one more season.
