One of Oregon’s runningbacks, LaMichael James, did a Q&A and he said that the layoff won’t affect Oregon.
The two teams heading into the BCS National Championship have a huge layoff between their last game and the final. That allows ample time for injuries to heal but if the practices that take place are not at game speed, then there is a risk that game-form might be lost.
LaMichael James, in a recent interview, suggested that the layoff won’t be a problem for Oregon because of how intense their practices are:
Questioner: “Do you worry about losing a step, not personally but like the whole team, just with the layoff and not being at game speed?”
LAMICHAEL JAMES: “No, not at all. We really practice hard. That’s one thing I can say. I think we practice harder than anybody in the country. If you are going at that tempo every day, it really doesn’t matter how long the layoff is.”
Oregon face the Auburn Tigers on Monday night from the University of Phoenix Stadium in the BCS National championship game. Oregon are the slight underdog heading into the championship.
