Calgary Flames Lead Northwest Division Odds

Our recommendation, however, is to go with the Canucks.

The Calgary Flames currently lead the Northwest Division however they are only one point up on both Colorado and Vancouver.  Here are the odds in that division to win the title with Players Only for the three favorites:

Calgary Flames: EVEN
Vancouver Canucks: +120 (6/5)
Colorado Avalanche: +350 (7/2)

This race is so tight that it is next to impossible to find any significant value with the prices that are listed above.  However, the hottest team of the three is the Vancouver Canucks and they were the preseason favorite.

The best bet to make is to go with the team that has the best “goals for” to “goals against” ratio.  That statistic is the one that is most likely to predict success and Vancouver, of the three teams above, is certainly the best team in that category.

They have 145 goals on the year with only 109 against, a ratio that easily trumps both Calgary and Colorado.

Our recommendation is to back Vancouver at +120 (6/5) as they look poised to take the division lead over.
