Canada Clinches Victory for Gold Medal Race

Crunch Sports Staff – 28 Feb 2021
Canadians cannot be caught for the outright lead in gold medals.

Canada have 13 gold medals at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the most recent one being the gold medal for men’s curling.  The next closest country is Germany with 10 gold medals and since there are only 2 more gold medals to be contested at Vancouver 2010 that means the Canadians have clinched victory for the outright gold medal race.

The USA will win the most medals when silver medals and bronze medals are factored in, but Canada have still represented themselves quite well at the 2010 Olympics, especially since the gold medal failures of both Calgary and Montreal were lingering before Vancouver 2010 got underway.

Norway is another country that have represented themselves quite well at the 2010 Olympics as they have 8 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals at the time of writing.  While those totals do not measure up to Canada, Germany, and the USA, Norway’s accomplishments are notable as they only have an estimated population of 4.9 million.
