Ronnie O’Sullivan vs. Judd Trump takes place this afternoon in the final of the 2014 Dafabet Champion of Champions.

The final takes place at the at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and is scheduled to start at 13:00 GMT.

Preview:

Essex-based Trump made sure of a place in the final of the Dafabet Champion of Champions after holding his nerve to win a thrilling semi-final 6-4 against Australian Neil Robertson, he will now take on O’Sullivan to see who wins the top prize of £100,000.

Trump, who lost the first game, won the next three frames to take some form of control on the contest to lead 3-1 at the interval. Robertson refused to buckle and they traded blows in the next two frames with Trump now leading 4-2.

They shared the next two before Robertson compiled the best break of the match – a 117 – to stay in the match at 5-4. All the drama came in what was the last frame as Robertson looked in the driving seat before a miss let Trump in with a match winning chance.

Trump then made a break of 51 but a small error saw him have to play safe on the pink. Both players had numerous visits as the safeties went back and forth but it was Trump who deposited the final black to take the frame and match.

Trump said: “I didn’t play very well so I am just really happy to have got through. I knew I had to win that frame, I wasn’t confident if it went 5-5, I felt Neil would have probably won it.

“For me to pot that black, I was under a lot of pressure, so I will take a lot from that.
I think it will be an attacking final. Hopefully I can play better than I have today, get on with it and have a quick game with a lot of scoring,”
