Alejandro Garnacho could be set for a first-team role under Erik Ten Haag

With the news that Erik Ten Haag is set to take over the reins at Old Trafford the rebuild that Manchester United desperately need is underway.

With stars such as Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard all set to leave the club, Ten Haag will need to decide who does and doesn’t have a future with the club.

This would have appealed to the Utd hierarchy regarding Ten Haag’s appointment is his willingness to invest in youth and one player that could be set for a big role in the future of United could be young Argentinian striker Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho has flourished in the under 18 and under 23 teams for United and has made the first-team bench under interim boss Ralph Rangnick.

Garnacho is clearly a player that Argentina are keen to integrate into the national setup as early as possible. Despite not playing for the Utd first team the call-up was a clear sign of Garnacho’s ability and how valued his talents are.

Utd clearly have a gem on their hands, and it will be interesting to see how many first-team appearances he will make next season.
