Arsenal are the bookmakers’ favourites to win the race to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona next year.

Fabregas was linked with Manchester United throughout the summer, with the Red Devils failing with two bids for the Spain international before the summer transfer window closed.

Reports in Spain last month suggested United boss David Moyes could continue his pursuit of the 26-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January, but bookmakers Paddy Power make the Gunners 5/6 favourites to be Fabregas’ next club at time of writing, ahead of United (3/1) and Bayern Munich (16/1).

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger earlier this year said he believed Fabregas, who last week revealed he was not a fan of Barca coach Gerardo Martino’s rotation policy at Camp Nou, would return to Emirates Stadium at some point in the future.

Meanwhile Fabregas, who insists he is happy in Spain, has praised Wenger’s recent record signing, Mesut Ozil.
Ozil has been in superb form since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid in a £42million deal, and Fabregas, who left north London for Barcelona in August 2011, believes the Germany international will be a big hit in the Premier League.
When asked about Ozil’s move to his former club, Fabregas told Al Primer Toque: “Spectacular. His style is nailed on for Arsenal.
“It’s a league with a lot more spaces and he is a player that, with [such] spaces, can kill you.
“We have seen it with Real Madrid. He has a brilliant final ball and in the Premier he will enjoy it a lot.
