Speaking ahead of the game, Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has praised his side’s attack following their 5-2 victory over Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday.
Arsenal enjoyed their best win of the season at the King Power Stadium, ending Leicester’s unbeaten start in the process.
The victory included a hat-trick from Alexis Sanchez, along with goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud, and the result pushed Arsenal up the Premier League table, with Arsene Wenger’s side three points behind leaders Manchester United.
That win over the Foxes also sends Arsenal into the Olympiakos game full of confidence after they beat local rivals Tottenham in the Capital One Cup last week.
Mertesacker told the club’s official website: “We struggled defensively but I’d say we got back to our striking force and more than four goals is something very special.
“We were quite happy after the win in midweek. We took some of that confidence with us today and you could see that.
