Arturo Vidal’s Wage Demands Could Halt Move to Flamengo

Flamengo’s Bid to Bring Arturo Vidal to Brazil Hits a Snag

It looks increasingly likely that Arturo Vidal will leave Inter Milan at the end of the Italian Serie A season, and a number of South American clubs have been linked with his signing.

Flamengo were one of the first to emerge as a possible destination for the 34-year-old, but it has now been reported that Vidal’s hefty wage demands could end the Mengão’s interest in the midfielder.

The club already pays big bucks for star man Gabriel Barbosa, and it’s likely that any move for Vidal will be predicated by ‘Gabigol’ moving to pastures new – plenty of clubs from around the world have been tracking the forward’s progress.

Reports suggested that Flamengo were willing to offer the Chilean around $4.9 million per season to join them, and given that Vidal has admitted he is a supporter of the Rossoneri it initially seemed that a deal was a formality.

But their financiers have crunched the numbers, and the suggestion is that the former Copa America winner will need to lower his expectations to get the deal over the line.
