Santos star Neymar, who is a transfer target for a number of Europe’s elite, sets a “bad example” for children, Corinthians coach Tite has claimed.

Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, better known as Tite, has hit out at the 20-year-old following his conduct during Santos’ 3-2 win at the weekend.

Neymar appeared to have stamped on Corinthians defender Guilherme Andrade during the game, leading to the £40million-rated forward coming in for some fierce criticism.

“Guilherme was trampled on by Neymar,” Tite told reporters.

“How many times have we played them and what was the level of sportsmanship from Corinthians?

“When we faced them in the Copa Libertadores, Emerson made a reckless challenge on Neymar and was sent off for it.

“Neymar fell to the ground and rolled around. When Emerson was sent off, he got up and was fine.

“Losing and winning is part of football, but simulating a situation to gain an advantage is not.

“It’s a bad example for a child who is growing up, like my son.”

Neymar last year snubbed a move to Europe and signed an improved contract with Santos, but is widely expected to be on the move before his deal expires in 2014.

Barcelona are widely seen as favourites to sign the Brazil international, while Chelsea, Juventus, and Real Madrid are also believed to be keen.
