Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauser insists the club are not in talks with Chelsea over the sale of Andre Schurrle. Schurrle has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time as they look to replace Didier Drogba, who left the club at the end of last season. Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and Porto’s Brazilian forward Hulk are both on Chelsea’s shortlist, but agreeing a fee for either player is proving to be a problem. Reports earlier this week had suggested an improved bid for Schurrle could be tabled in the coming days after Leverkusen recently rejected an offer of £16million for the 21-year-old. But Holzhauser insists there is no deal in place and that the situation will not change. “Andre Schurrle is an important player of our club,” he told Bild. “There is no asking price in this case as there is no alternative solution. “We have already said everything about this.” As well as looking to sign a striker, Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is also keen on bringing in Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta and Wigan winger Victor Moses before the transfer window closes.
