Marseille have dismissed reports in France that a fee with Chelsea for Cesar Azpilicueta has been agreed. Reports in France on Wednesday had claimed the two clubs had agreed a fee for the 22-year-old, who is known to be keen on joining the Blues (see Related Articles). But Marseille president Vincent Labrune insists Chelsea are yet to meet their valuation for the right-back. “It is nothing,” Labrune told La Marseillaise. “I don’t know who started to present this kind of information, but it is totally false. “Last Friday, they [Chelsea], came to us with an offer of €4million and we answered that that isn’t an offer. “For the moment this is where it ends.” Marseille had already admitted that the Spaniard was available for sale as they look to raise additional funds through player sales, and it was widely believed that last Sunday’s 2-0 win over Sochaux was his last game for the club. But the Ligue 1 outfit are believed to want around €8m before agreeing to let him move to Stamford Bridge.
