Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who has been linked with Chelsea, has no intention of quitting the club, according to his father.

Reports in the past few days have suggested Hernandez’s future at Old Trafford could be in some doubt following the arrival of Robin van Persie from Arsenal.

Van Persie completed a £24million move to Old Trafford last Friday and his move from London is likely to see Hernandez slip down the pecking order this season.

Chicharito was already struggling for game time last season as Danny Welbeck was often preferred alongside Wayne Rooney, and he is believed to have become frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities.

According to ESPN, United have already rejected an enquiry for the Mexico international from Chelsea, who are looking to bring in a striker before the transfer window closes next week.

And according to Hernandez’s father, the player will see out his contract with the Red Devils.

“That’s all speculation of the press,” Hernandez Snr was quoted by Metro as saying when asked about his son being linked with a move away from Manchester.

“Chicharito has a contract with Manchester United, and he wants to see that out.”

Hernandez did not even make the bench for Monday’s 1-0 defeat at Everton.
